Attorney Joseph P. McManus
Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire
Attorney Joseph P. McManus has been a civil trial attorney since he began practicing law in 2004. He focuses his practice on personal injury and family law. He has handled hundreds of cases involving serious personal injuries, motor vehicle collisions, motorcycle injuries, premises liability, defective products, dog bites, police misconduct, construction site accidents, medical malpractice and nursing home neglect. Attorney McManus specializes in serious motorcycle injury cases. As a motorcyclist, Attorney McManus is able to apply his experience directly to collision cases resulting in injured riders. Attorney McManus also handles a multitude of family law cases, including divorces, modifications and contempts. He has successfully handled cases in Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk counties through settlement and trial. Attorney McManus has also been appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem to investigate child custody and visitation cases and as a Special Master to assist in the divorce process by the Worcester Probate and Family Court.
He has tried numerous cases to verdict. Several significant verdicts have been covered by the Connecticut Law Tribune and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly publications. In one medical malpractice/wrongful death case involving the suffocation of a woman by medical personnel, he was the first attorney in the nation to persuade a court to disallow the testimony of a well-known, national defense expert because the expert’s opinions were scientifically invalid. In his free time, Joe enjoys riding his motorcycle and spending time with his wife, Amanda, and two young daughters, Jane and Ida.

Attorney Michael J. McManus
Attorney Michael J. McManus has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association since 1985. He has tried hundreds of cases in numerous courts, including the Probate Courts of Worcester County, Middlesex County and Norfolk County, many District Courts, the Worcester Superior Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Attorney McManus is a long standing member of the Worcester County Bar Association and is authorized to practice law in the United States District Court. Attorney McManus also has had success in representing clients in the Appellate Court. He has handled several high profile cases including Sutton vs. Valois, 66 Mass. App. Ct. 258, 846 N.E. 2nd 1171, an action in equity. A comprehensive article on the case was reported in the Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly on May 15, 2006.
Attorney McManus has thirty years of experience in the Worcester Probate Court handling adoptions, guardianships, divorces, equity complaints, estates, will contests, contempts, modifications, restraining orders and removal cases.
He has conducted hundreds of divorce related investigations involving child custody matters, parenting plans and removal cases, beginning in 1978 when he served the Worcester Probate Court as a Probation Officer and for the last 26 years as a Guardian Ad Litem.
His trial experience extends to other fields of practice, including personal injury cases, automobile accident cases, contract cases and various other fields of general litigation.
Attorney McManus has also given back to the legal community. On May 24, 2004 he received the Family Law Award presented by the Volunteer Lawyers Service for his pro bono representation of several clients.
